No American family dominated a single state longer than the du Ponts of Delaware. They built neighboring houses, gardens, and farms that spanned miles of rolling hills in Delaware’s Brandywine Valley. Join Maggie Lidz as she presents rare period photographs of some of the family’s 25 family houses and gardens featured in a new Acanthus Press publication, including Winterthur, Longwood, and Nemours. Copies of the book, The du Ponts: Houses and Gardens in the Brandywine, 1900-1951, will be available for sale at the event.
